Our Memorial Garden
Endowed  March 2005
Dedication April 9, 2006 (click to view)

The UUCOV Memorial Garden is finally a reality.  Due to the generosity of Bill Lynch, who funded the garden in memory of his late wife Helen and the hard work of Kenny Waters who can do almost anything you ask and Marilyn Amick who kept us focused on the plan submitted by our landscape architect, we have a lovely garden to help us remember those we have lost.
It is planned that several benches will be added for quiet meditation of UUCOV members, and others who might stop by.  The combination of lovely plantings, a handsome walkway and the dedicatory wall makes for a serene setting for reflection.
The wall, by the way, was professionally finished, but Kenny and his crew did the hard work of designing and creating the understructure.  Thanks to Don Karr, Gordon Scott, Sara McCorckle, Greg Dilger, Dick Smith and Peter McDonald for their contributions to the project.
A second group headed by Jane Allen has suggested a memory book of high quality, in which will be kept written memorials of UUCOV people who have died.  It is hoped that everyone takes a few minutes from time to time to enjoy the garden and what it means to all of us.
